4 WAYS TO MAKE THE FINAL PUSH COUNT

There’s a specific kind of pressure that hits when the school year's end is closing in. Classes are wrapping up, deadlines are stacking, summer plans need finalizing, etc. What often happens when pressure builds is that we feel an urge to make the most of the time that’s left.

Making the most of our time and energy during the final stretch of the school year will only work if it’s done the right way.

Today, I am going to outline how to capitalize on this final month of the semester, in Student-Made, but also in all of the other things you have going on in your life. Let’s lock in!

We have so much thrown at us, but when we’re closing in on this final push of the semester, it’s essential that we get clear on what actually matters and understand that not everything deserves our attention. When there’s not much time left, the biggest trap we can fall into is simply trying to do too much.

Take a moment and think…

(Hint: Student-Made Pop-Up Events!)

What are the most important class assignments that I need to perform well on? What did I start at the beginning of the semester that I really want to follow through on?

Once you identify what will really be the difference maker in your semester, focus on staying there. It’s okay to eliminate the extra! The little details will fade away soon, but the big wins are what will stick with you.

You’re likely at your busiest right now, which makes most tasks and opportunities intimidating. But, I urge you not to default subconsciously to the “busy” mindset.

Don’t underestimate little pockets of time to make progress and accomplish your goals. Be thoughtful about your focus, but don’t force yourself to say “no” to more things than you need to. You still have 24 hours in the day like always.

So while you're narrowing down on the important things, don't go overboard with how much time is actually needed to accomplish them. Important doesn’t mean you need to overthink it. Yes, I agree… life IS a constant balancing act!

Sometimes when we sense the end is near, we can panic and end up adding moreto our plate. But, let me remind you that this is not the time to start five new ideas. Instead, identify unfinished work and think about closing those loops.

Unfinished work or projects drain your attention and slow your momentum. You likely already have an intimidating list in front of you… so don’t add to it!

Ask yourself…What’s already in motion that I can finish before the semester ends? How can I make the most of my Student-Made experience in this final month?

I encourage you to look back at business goals you set in September. How can you use this month to get a tad bit closer to those? That's why my letters always start the semester off with goal setting, and finish with reflection. I welcome you to even get started on your Fall goal setting now! (extra credit)

The final months of the semester move fast. Between running your business, exams, social commitments and everything else, it’s easy to get caught up in the stress and forget to find joy.

Finding contentment with where you’re at and deciding to truly embrace this final push will help ensure it doesn’t just fly by. You’ll be more present, thoughtful, and grateful for each opportunity.

Momentum isn’t just about doing more, it’s about feeling good while you do it. It’s true, you’ll never get these moments back. But, if you don’t ground yourself in them and take notice of where you are, you’ll miss out on the journey they're building along the way.
Spoiler…the journey is the best part!

One option is to panic about things coming to an end and feel bummed about things we didn’t accomplish— frantically checking boxes and surviving deadlines. Let’s all agree to skip that option! The real opportunity we have is the chance to finish strong, gain momentum, and enter summer with clarityconfidence, and a sense of accomplishment.

This is how to set yourself up for success in your business and personal life. So take a deep breath, lock in, and make these final weeks count!
