COMMUNITY STORIES: ADRIANA GREEN
Touring the school, I knew this would be a good fit for me: it’s close to home and the School of Business is one of the biggest schools on the campus. It’s also not your ordinary college campus, but I don’t consider myself an ordinary person, so it fit just perfectly.
I chose Accounting because I want to understand the financial aspects of a business, run a storefront business and possibly earn my CPA. I chose to minor in Entrepreneurship due to the connections CofC brings to student-entrepreneurs.
I started on November 4th, 2025, when the School of Business hosted a Holiday Market. I never had the courage to do opportunities and offers like these because I never thought anyone would support me, but I learned that it’s better to try and fail instead of not trying at all.
I used to hate jewelry, but my mom made sure I wore it, and my grandma would have a door full of necklaces. After the years went by, I started to love jewelry, from pearls to chokers!
Then, I realized I couldn’t find pieces that felt like me. Sometimes, I want a business look, and some days I want to feel like a kid again, which explains the combination of bracelets I offer now.
Some days I have people supporting me and other days I can barely get a repost, yet other business gets support like that all the time.
It does make me feel bothered, almost as if I’m not cut out for this, but then I realize I have to work twice as hard if i truly want to be seen. I’m still in the early phases, but I’m in the process of changing it!
I was asked questions such as:
“What made you choose your major?”
“What career path are you considering taking?”
“What do you do in your spare time?”
I mentioned that I just started a jewelry business, and I was introduced to Student-Made. I signed up and I don’t regret it!
Small stuff such as attending pop-ups, restocking when items go low, and keeping up with the website is not as easy as you think, but it teaches you time management, which is very important!
In the future, I hope to make more pieces, get better with necklaces and earrings, and have a storefront for A’Luxuri.
