COMMUNITY STORIES: JAMARION WILLIE

Growing up surrounded by people who dreamed big and pushed boundaries taught me that anything is possible if you put in the work. That mindset has shaped the way I see the world and the way I chase my goals.

My time here has been full of new experiences, challenges, and opportunities to step into leadership roles that push me to be better every day.

I chose Electrical & Electronics Engineering as my major because I enjoy creating solutions and building things from the ground up. For me, engineering is more than a field; it is a way to combine problem-solving with innovation, which connects directly to my passion for entrepreneurship.

I work to build relationships between the student-entrepreneurs, our campus, and the larger community so that everyone can see the value in supporting student creativity. My goal is to create an environment where our store is more than just a shop; it is a hub for student stories and innovation.

This role has taught me that engagement is not just about promoting; it is about creating genuine connections that inspire people to get involved. One of my biggest goals is to grow awareness of Student-Made on campus so every student knows their peers are running real businesses and creating real products right here at Troy.

Those challenges have taught me to stay organized and focused on the bigger picture. One of my favorite parts of this job is watching students light up when they realize their work matters and their stories are being heard.

My passion for technology and design has always pushed me to think about how machines and humans can work together to solve real problems, and robotics gives me that opportunity. At the same time, I want to carry my entrepreneurial spirit with me and create opportunities for others through innovation.

What I hope to give back is encouragement to other students to step out, share their stories, and believe in their potential.

It has given me the opportunity to make an impact, connect with other driven students, and learn how powerful it is when a community comes together to support each other’s dreams.

When I think about the future of Student-Made, I see it becoming a nationwide movement that gives students everywhere the confidence to turn their ideas into reality.
