COMMUNITY STORIES: LANDON LUCERO

This is important because I want to move to Charlotte after graduating and work at a Big 4 accounting firm. I chose accounting because I had taken an accounting class and high-school and that's when It clicked. I ended up finding it interesting and fun dealing with the basis of money which I felt would be skills that will help me throughout life.

I started my business in high school when everyone started thrifting and realized I can not only thrift for myself but make money doing it as well.

My main ambition when starting my business was based around my love for fashion, so finding cool clothing for cheap was a no brainer to me . Now my ambition is my love for the clothing I find, holding a piece of history and knowing all the depth behind it is so fascinating to me—from a vintage Nascar shirt to a pair of 1950’s Levis a coal miner wore.

Student-Made has definitely helped me do that and pursue my goals of strengthening my network and making an income.

It was the first time I have been able to be a vendor downtown and I got to meet so many great people, who I still have connections with.

What keeps me loving my business is connecting these new creative items with my love for fashion. Having fashion as a lifestyle of mine gives me a strong relationship with clothing allowing for my business to be not only be for work but recreational use.

I want to be confident in marketing myself and selling to customers, and have social skills which will transfer to my business career.
